Microshift Centos Xpress Plus Flat Bar Shifters 2×11, SL-R861-2
While working on a project to convert my MTB into an 11-speed road bike , I had to flat a flat bar with shifters, compatible with my Shimano 105 RD-R7000-GS rear derailleur. Although there are numerous mountain bike flat bar shifters available, Shimano's unique pull ratio cable for each road and mountain bikes prevents me from using them on my road bike. Shimano's own website lists as only original option the Shimano SL-RS700 flat bar shifters. These are 11-speed RAPIDFIRE

BMC Streetfire SS02 (4) - Alt Bar upgrade
(continued from Part 3) As mentioned, I have another light road or racing bike, based on my Fastrax Scandium frame. While this built is light and nimble, the BMC is, possibly due to it's larger size, a little bit more sluggish, no matter what kind of rim/tire combination I put on the bike. Even though both bike the complement each other, I somehow decided to build this BMC with a different setup with a straight handlebar, to make it more comfortable and more versatile. My s

BMC Streetfire SS02 (3), wheelset, tires
( continued from page 2 ) Wheelset I utilized the 'old' wheelset from my 'Italian Style Bike', which is the Campagnolo Khamsin wheelset. The front and rear wheels both fit the 100mm width of the fork and the 130mm spacing of the rear wheel. -Tires or Tyres As I am always hunting for new, cheap tires, I've tried a pair of Vittoria Rubino Pro s. These are the older, traditional Vittoria tires before the 'Graphene' era. I've had bad experiences with the reviewed Vittoria CORSA G

SHIMANO FD-CX70 Top Pull 2x10-speed Front Derailleur Review
For my mountain bike frame to road bike conversion , I've planned to use my 'old' Shimano Sora 9-speed road bike parts. But I had to replace the front derailleur as the road bikes are designed as pull-down but the mountain bike shifter cables are routed for top pull actions. I could opt for an MTB (mountain bike) front derailleur but, for example, the Shimano DeoreFD-M6025-L 2x10-speed is only designed for top gear of 34-38T (teeth), much too low for my intended road bike cha

SunRace CS-RX1, 11-32T, Rear Cassette, Review
Rear Cassette An important benefit of building your own bike is the freedom of choice; you can select components that meet your needs, fit your budget, and are compatible with other parts. In this instance, I had the opportunity to choose between the original Shimano 105 (R7000) and the SunRace CS-RX1 rear cassette. Based on my past cycling experiences, I decided to stick with the familiar 11-32T (teeth) ratio; in Taiwan, some mountains are just too steep to tackle with a 28T
